J Demetrius Barker is a dynamic entrepreneur, executive strategist, and published author who holds multiple leadership roles across both the private and nonprofit sectors. He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Advise Me JD, Inc., where he provides high-level business consulting services focused on revenue generation, business development, organizational strategy, and operational architecture, helping entrepreneurs and organizations scale with clarity and precision.

J also serves as the President and Chairman of BCDC (Barker Community Development Corporation), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals, expanding access to affordable housing, and investing in sustainable community development. In addition, he is the CEO of The BARKER Corp, a private equity firm specializing in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth opportunities.

Academically, J holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Management and is a Doctoral Candidate pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration, further strengthening his expertise in leadership, strategy, and organizational performance.

​

Beyond his professional accomplishments, J is recognized as a Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, using his spiritual gifts of insight and wisdom to guide individuals toward purpose, clarity, and the greatness designed for them by God.

J is also a published author of “The Access Code: How to Unlock Your Success”. His writings provide powerful insights into personal and professional growth, blending practical strategy with spiritual depth to help individuals unlock their full potential.

His entrepreneurial journey began early, at just 16 years old, J co-founded Urban Entrepreneurs, a nonprofit organization serving inner-city youth across the tri-state area. As Chancellor, he played a key role in securing funding and building programs that equipped young people with the tools, resources, and training needed to pursue entrepreneurship. The organization received recognition from both public and political leaders for its impact and innovation.

Through his company, The Network, LLC, J has empowered over 100 businesses and entrepreneurs to establish strong foundations, drive revenue growth, and optimize operations. His work spans a diverse client base, including the Philadelphia Police Department Cheers Program, Youth for Change, and Jim Smith Jr. International. In addition, he has partnered with political leaders to advance community-focused strategies and has served as a panelist for numerous youth engagement and leadership initiatives.

J studied Business at Peirce College, where he further developed his foundation in management and operations. His contributions to business and community development have earned him several honors, including the Good Citizenship Award from The Union League of Philadelphia, a Certificate of Partnership from the Philadelphia Police Department, recognition from the Reserve Officers Association of the United States, and the William H. Gray Jr. Service Award.
